Fraxinus rhynchophylla, commonly known as Korean ash tree, is a deciduous tree native to Korea. In Korea, it is called “Moolpoorae tree,” meaning ‘the tree which makes water blue’. Traditionally, it has been used as a natural dye providing a blue color. Medicinally, it has been used in Traditional Oriental Medicine to treat eye disease, inflammatory diseases, and fever. Besides the well-known anti-oxidant effect of this plant, we have found skin brightening effects proven by the cell test and clinical test on facial dark spot areas.
