Calendula officinalis, commonly called marigold, pot marigold, and English marigold, is a plant native to southern Europe. Marigold is an annual plant with yellow to orange flowers cultivated and used for culinary and medicinal purposes. The flowers were traditionally used in many regions including ancient Greece, the Roman Empire, and India as foods, cosmetics, a dye for fabrics, and medicine.
