서양사에서 ‘테리악’의 역할은 지대합니다. 고대 그리스의 의사 갈레노스는 ‘테 리악’을 연구했고, 이 약제법은 모든 사람의 질병을 치료하고 예방하는 데에 쓰였다고 알려졌습니다. 수천 년의 시간이 담겨 있는 고대 그리스 로마 시대의 약제법에서 영감의 원천을 얻어 GNS만의 원료로 완성했습니다.
우리는 자연에 대한 배움을 마다하지 않습니다. 식물과 생물의 다양성, 보존이라는 공동의 목표 아래, GNS는 유익한 특성을 지닌 식물을 찾기 위해 RBGE만의 DNA 바코딩 기술을 접목했습니다. GNS는 지속적인 공동연구를 통해 식물이 주는 이로운 가치를 세상에 전합니다.
해발 8,000m가 넘는 히말라야산맥, 고산지대에서 채집되는 신비로운 약초들은 이곳 주민 수십만 명을 먹여살린다고 알려졌습니다. 수천 년 역사의 전통의학 아유르베다를 이어받은 네팔은 전통의학에 근거한 약초들이 무궁무진합니다. GNS는 그들의 경험에 녹아있는 신비로운 약초들을 끊임없이 탐구합니다.
태국에는 그들 고유의 약초로 신체를 치료하는 전통적인 민간요법이 전해집니다. 우리는 태국에서만 자란다는 고귀한 약초들을 직접 수급해 피부에 이로운 다양한 효과를 연구합니다. 오랜 기간 경험으로 쌓아온 데이터베이스를 바탕으로 새로운 식물의 유용성을 탐구하고, GNS만의 과학으로 답을 찾아갑니다.
Medical Herbalist (NIMH), UK
Dee Atkinson started working as a Medical Herbalist. In 1990, she re-established the old herbal business, Napiers of Edinburgh, into one of the UK’s largest Complementary Medicine Clinic. Since 2013, she has concentrated on her clinical practice and set up her own traditional dispensary in Edinburgh, D.Atkinson Herbalist. She is a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists(NIMH) and has also worked as a Council member. Over the past 12 years, she has been actively involved in working towards the regulation of Herbal Practitioners and the regulation of the sale of herbal products.
Registered Herbalist of American Herbalists Guild, Canada
Chanchal Cabrera obtained her Master degree in herbal medicine at the University of Wales in 2003 and has held the faculty chair in Botanical Medicine at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster, Canada, since 2004. She serves on the board of advisors of Dominion Herbal College in Burnaby, on the editorial board of Medical Herbalism clinical newsletter and she publishes widely in professional journals and lectures internationally on medical herbalism, nutrition and health. She is a certified Master Gardener and a certified Horticulture Therapist. Currently, Chanchal and her husband run innisfree Farm on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
